One thing to consider when setting up an event or conference Web site, is how will you add functionality that takes the site to a new level of engagement without putting over the top strain on the staff managing the event.

Our client, a national economic development organization, wanted to do just that by adding an online project competition to the event. The question became, how will hundreds of entries, that include contact info, project summaries and images not become a logistical nightmare to manage? UP developed the event site, and integrated entry forms created in WordPress with the client’s existing SharePoint set-up. This allowed staff from around the country to view entries to be judged, using the company’s existing technology platform. The event site became much more than a promotional vehicle, it was used to engage with potential attendees months ahead of the actual event.
